What Are The Processing Difficulties When Using Deep Hole Processing?
Dec 08, 2021
Deep hole machining I believe everyone knows that deep hole machining is a kind of machining field with tools designed for existing applications. It is used in many industries now. So what are the processing difficulties of using deep hole machining?
1. When drilling and reaming, it is difficult for the coolant and lubricating fluid to be input to the cutting area without special equipment, which reduces the tool durability and makes chip removal difficult.
2. It is not possible to directly observe the cutting situation, just listen to the sound, watch the chips, observe the machine load, oil pressure and other parameters to judge the chip removal and drill wear.
3. Due to the long drill rod, poor rigidity, and easy vibration, the axis of the hole is easy to deviate, which affects the processing accuracy and production efficiency.
4. In the process of deep hole machining, you cannot directly observe the cutting condition of the tool. You can only judge the cutting by listening to the sound during cutting, watching the chips, hand vibration and workpiece temperature, and observing the meters (oil pressure gauge and electric meter) based on work experience. Whether the process is normal.
5. In order to ensure the smooth progress of the deep hole in the machining process and achieve the required machining quality, an internal (or external) chip removal device, a tool guide and support device, and a high-pressure cooling and lubricating device should be added to the tool.
6. The tool holder is limited by the aperture, with small diameter and large length, resulting in poor rigidity and low strength. It is easy to produce vibration, ripple, and taper during cutting, which will affect the straightness and surface roughness of the deep hole.
7. Cutting heat is not easy to be transmitted, and chip removal is difficult. If the chip is blocked, it will cause damage to the drill.
